Xe M. Sánchez

L’OTRU LLAU

Güei ye un día de folixa.
Los mariñanes llaniscos
faen una salea pela mar
pa remembrar
a los que llastieren
y pa pidi-y a Santa Ana
la so proteición.
Yo remembro tamién
les mios ausencies,
les que degolaren
al otru llau de la mar,
comu los cuélebres,
y les qu’entá tan pente nos
y quiciabes güei
nun van remémbrame.
Güei ye un día de folixa.
Güei ye un poema de señaldá.

PA SUAÑATE OTRA VEGADA

Un suañu
dexa de ser un suañu
cuandu entama a ser realidá,
cuandu puedes tocalu
coles tos manes.
Degolo lloñe
pa suañate otra vegada.
Selo abondu,
nun ye fácil pescanciame.
Nun toi avezáu a la gayola
de la que falen dellos poemes
que nun pescancien
que la poesía
ye fiya de la borrina.

EL FUTURU YERA GÜEI

Decateme abenayá
de que’l dineru
nun puede mercar el tiempu.
Poro barafustio la tardi
a la gueta d’un versu
qu’enxamás atoparé.
Poro barafustio la tardi
intentando escaecer
el pasáu que nun tornará,
comu les hores qu’amburamos
suañando esa utopía
qu’alcuñamos futuru.
El futuru yera güei.

THE OTHER SIDE

Today is a day of celebration.
The sailors of Llanes
make a parade through the sea
for remembering those who died
and to ask Santa Ana
for her protection.
I remember also
my absences,
those who are gone
to the other side of the sea,
as the dragons,
and those who are still among us,
and maybe today
they will not remember me.
Today is a day of celebration.
Today is a poem of melancholy.

TO DREAM OF YOU AGAIN

A dream
ceases to be a dream
when you can touch it
with your hands.
I am going far away
to dream of you again.
I know it well,
it is not easy to understand me.
I am not used to the joy
of which certain poems talk about,
which do not understand
that poetry
is the daughter of the fog.

THE FUTURE WAS TODAY

I understood a long time ago
that money
cannot buy the time.
That is why I waste the evening
looking for a verse
trying to forget
the past that shall not return,
as the hours which we burned
dreaming of that utopia
called by us future.
The future was today.
