CATEDRAL

Foi ao índio que das pedras se fundou a missão
Consagrada à Imaculada Conceição
Torneadas as pedras pelo cinzel da fé
Em que gerações de ardor insígne pugnaram
Pela pedra fundamental que da Ibéria exauriam
José Custódio de Sá e Faria, José del Pozo y Marquy
E o neoclássico, o Toribio.
Repousam entre as suas pedras os cívicos de outros tempos,
Feéricos tribunos de Deus e da Pátria que nela se inspiraram
E até de Papas foi visitada.
Anastacio Saraivia, José Gervásio Urtigas, libertadores
Nela temeram pela vida
Enquanto lá fora Agustín Barrios tinia acordes
Que só Andrés Segóvia reflectia.



CATHEDRAL
