Terra Infirma, a sequence of five collages — Alarming New Outbreaks, Mask Shortage, Urgent Care, Shop by Phone, Nightly Protests— is part of an ongoing graphic sequence created during the Corvid-19 virus pandemic 2020.

Approximately 4.25” x 6.25”; Strathmore 80 lb. paper, miscellaneous ephemera, vintage medical and mail order catalog images, maps, Chinese, Tibetan, and Indian papers and found text.




Marilyn Stablein is a poet, writer and mixed media artist who works in collage, assemblage, photography, artist books, and performance art. Her artwork appears in journals, books, online and in private and public collections. Recent books include: a monograph Bind, Alter, Fold: 38 Artist Books; Houseboat on the Ganges & A Room in Kathmandu: Letters from India & Nepal 1966-1972 (National Federation of Press Women award) and Milepost 27: Poems, (a Southwest Book of the Year 2019).
